I’m a student at the masters programme in geomatics (GIS and remote sensing) at Stockholm University. This can mean a lot of this, but in short I would say that I work with satellite imagery and other geographical data.
I think a lot about tools and how to use them and I’m always looking to learn something new. It’s something that I sometimes do somewhat obsessivly, but in any work that I take on, having a large toolset has two major benefits:
You learn to see problems in the abstract. Skills are often surprisingly transferable between seemingly unrelated topics
Momentum. Having a habit of always learning new things makes sure that you never get stuck in your old ways of working.
I write about this and watever else I happen to be working on.
